Hi Mint, what was the idea behind your children’s room?
There are quite a few ideas behind the room but primarily I wanted to create space that encourages independence, exploration and natural movement. For the children, elements such as the bottom bunk enable our little one to become more independent while the mirror encourages him to explore and look at things in different ways. For me It’s a canvas to explore my own design ideas by playing with light, colours, patterns, fabrics etc.
What pieces in their room do you love the most?
I love the bunk bed and also the drop wall hooks by Normann Copenhagen which I find to be excellent design.
Where do you find your interior and style inspiration?
I am always on the look-out for great ideas on Pinterest and Instagram but I find that Montessori principles have had a big impact on how I think about space for children.
What’s the best thing about being a mum to your boys?
I love being a Mum and it has been rewarding in so many ways. I’ve been blessed with a wonderful husband and two beautiful children. It has helped me grow and become a better person. Every day something reminds me to be grateful for being a Mum.
What’s the hardest?
I think that every day there are things that can be difficult but I am always mindful of how lucky we really are. If I had to pick though, I would say finding balance is probably my greatest challenge.
How would your children define their mum?
I would like to think they would define me as cool mum that takes good care of them and loves cuddles and being silly but our children have their own ideas.
What’s currently on yours and your children’s wish lists?
Right now I’m in love with LUCKYBOYSUNDAY and Ferm Living’s new collections and our eldest is looking forward to Skylanders Trap Team.
