Finlay & Parker’s Shared Toddler Bedroom Tour

I’m finally getting around to sharing a little tour of Finlay & Parker’s new shared toddler bedroom! I’m really pleased with how it’s come together, though I can take no credit for the assembly as it was all the handiwork of my husband. When we moved house back in January it was the one room I wanted to get set up as quickly as possible so that the boys felt settled. There were a lot of late nights painting, building and wallpapering but it’s finally all come together. For anyone interested you can see the boys’ previous nursery tour here! As you can see we’ve used a real mixture of new and old pieces that we already had.

I’ve briefly mentioned that we’re about to start some renovations on our new home, which is an old Victorian house with tall ceilings and wooden floors. Therefore making the boys’ room so modern felt like a bit of a gamble – to get around this I decided to go for the more traditional looking Minnen beds, which sadly I don’t think IKEA stock anymore. They fit in so well with both contemporary and classic looks, not to mention they were a perfect size and meant we didn’t need to add any eye-sore bed guards. The Ferm Living wallpaper, something I’ve been coveting for who knows how long, was the perfect way to bring in some much-needed colour and again is so versatile it suits any setup.

For storage, the boys’ room also has two wardrobes from Ikea’s Stuva range (see our post here which inspired me on the different ways it can be styled) and a little cosy reading nook, one of my favourite corners. We’re members of the local library so we tend to change the books every month or so. I’ve found it’s a great way to give the room a little refresh now and then by having a new theme illustrated through the books we’ve chosen (basically it helps kerb any unnecessary extra spending!)

I’ll list where everything is from below, however many of the products have been bought over the years from one of my favourite interior stores, This Modern Life. We were lucky enough to guest post on their blog this week, so do pop over to have a read as I’ve gone into a bit more detail about the process of planning a shared toddler bedroom.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy this little tour! x
