Entertaining kids in winter can be a tricky business. More often than not our park trips are rained off or we end up running into a cafe to escape the cold for hot chocolates – not that any of us are complaining about the latter! During a recent trip to Edinburgh we thought we’d better play it safe and plan an indoor outing. After some mulling we decided on a visit to the amazing National Museum of Modern Art Gallery.
The boys took off the moment we got there, luckily the current exhibition is rather child friendly with its pastel paints dripping down the walls and big open spaces surrounding the Karla Black installations. There’s nothing better than seeing Finlay and Parker immersed in their own worlds as they explored the interactive areas of the museum and finally got to create installations of their own out of the blocks on offer.
Finlay’s cute wee outfit, which we were kindly sent from Well Grounded Co. reflects this love for embracing imagination and working with creatives, as founderJenny Voyce shares, “I’ve always enjoyed working with artists and I’ve brought them into the mix with prints and patterns exclusively commissioned from illustrators. I really wanted to create clothes for kids that didn’t look like they’d come from the 1950’s. To create something new but that would last and could be passed on to siblings.”
Well Grounded Co’s range includes tops, bottoms and t-shirts for both boys and girls. It also includes timeless dresses that don’t limit a child in their playtime. The range is aimed at kids from as young as two to 12 years old. Jenny has taken great care in choosing suppliers who maintain ethical standards for their workforce. We’re big fans of this exciting new brand, their super soft clothing washes perfectly and look great paired together or with other collections.
