It’s true that Valentine’s Day is typically all about couples, but that doesn’t mean the little ones in the family can’t get involved too (especially if you’re having trouble booking a babysitter!) Below we’ve rounded up a bunch of fun ways to make this V-Day an extra special occasion. Even better they’ll make great activities to do together during the half-term break – Have fun!
1. Cineworld Movies For Juniors
A classic date idea, only kid friendly! Check out your local movie theatre to find out about their daily junior showings – It’s a cheap & cheerful outing, as tickets start from only £2.
We love going to our local ceramic studio, which is full of arts and crafts activities for the whole family to try. After all, every household needs a few “characterful” painted mugs to add to their collection!
3. Park Walk & Hot Chocolates
Get some fresh air by taking a stroll (or scoot) through your local park, but with the added treat of heading for some hot chocolates after!
4. Ice Cream Parlour
If you’re lucky enough to have a gelato store in town then why not pop in for a scoop or two? The kids will love choosing their own toppings and sitting in one of the big pink booths.
5. Take A Staycation
It’s never too late to book a staycation. Have a browse itison to see what last minute deals you could grab. The hotel may only be down the road, but those big hotel beds, fluffy white dressing gowns and a yummy cooked breakfast guarantee you’ll feel miles away.
6. Cook A Special Meal At Home
7. Get Dressed Up & Go To A Restaurant
Otherwise you can always dine out! It’s a great excuse to get dressed up and enjoy some quality family time at your favourite restaurant.
8. Let The Kids Choose
Kids love getting a say in what to do, so why not get their input! To keep it fair, have everyone write down their favourite outing idea on a slip of paper and then leave it up to fate by pulling one out of a hat.
A classic that never gets old, time to get those stylish shoes on and the bumpers up!
10. Make Something For Someone Special…
Here at Chalk Kids we love our arts and crafts, why not have a go at making something special starting with these Valentine’s Day DIY Cupid Arrows!
11. Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt
The perfect Valentine’s Day activity! You can download these free printables so all you need to do is hide the treats.
12. Game Night
Whip up some snacks, turn the TV off and get your favourite board games out. Uno anyone?
