Can you believe how close Christmas is now? And I still have presents to buy, eek! We’ve been rather busy the last few months and I’m finding it hard to make time to bake lots of lovely Christmas treats. So this December is all about quick and simple recipes. This one is no different!
I even got my 14 month old daughter to help me with these. She really enjoyed getting stuck in and eating the ingredients I gave her. We probably could have made a few more, but never mind. It was all part of the fun!
This recipe is perfect for baking with kids. I say baking, yet there’s no baking involved at all! These pudding balls are so easy to make and would make great gifts from the kids too. Check out the recipe below – Happy cooking!
You will need:
200g milk chocolate
350g Madeira cake (I used shop bought)
100g white chocolate
Holly berry and leaves sprinkles
Directions: Melt your milk chocolate in a bowl, in the microwave.Whilst waiting for your chocolate to melt, crumble up the cake, in a bowl, as small as you can. Kids will love this bit. Pour the melted chocolate into the cake and stir (check to make sure the chocolate is not too hot before letting children help). Once stirred in roll the mixture into balls. Place onto a plate and cover over with cling film. Place into the fridge for an hour. Melt the white chocolate in the microwave. Take out the chocolate balls from the fridge and carefully spoon over a small amount of chocolate. Take care not to cover the whole ball. Place the holly berries and leaves on top. Leave to set. This will keep for up to 5 days in an airtight container. You could also crumble up a Christmas pudding instead of Madeira cake if liked.
