Stunning Food Art From Little Miss Bento

We’re all packed and ready for our trip to Singapore later this week. Whilst the 12 hour flight with two youngsters is in the back of my mind, the boys and I are all looking forward to visiting their grandparents. Parker can finally have his first swim and I can’t wait to see Finlay’s face when we go back to the water play at Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden – It’s a tots paradise!

Something that’s made me even more excited about our trip this year has been stumbling upon Singapore based, Shirley Wong behind Little Miss Bento. Shirley is an award-winning bento artist specialising in traditional and character bento and will soon be releasing her first cookbook! How amazing is her work? I stayed up far too late the other night scrolling through her stunning pictures.

I’ve always admired bento food art and feel inspired now to give it a go whilst we’re out in Singapore, though I think I’ll stick to the slightly easier ingredients. I can already hear Olly laughing at my attempt but I’m looking forward to shopping for some kawaii supplies once we get there. If anything it might help encourage Finlay to try some new veggies!
