If you’re looking for a top destination to take your kids to this summer then the brand new £20 million KidZania centre at the Westfield shopping mall in Shepherd’s Bush might be just the ticket. Built over the course of one year, the child-size city is the equivalent in size to Leicester Square, with the ceiling height of Heathrow Terminal Five!
KidZania London is the UK’s first Educational Entertainment Experience, allowing children to do what they love: playing grown ups. Kidzana aims to recreate a real-life introduction to the world of work, offering fun and educational experiential learning through different ‘job’ related activities.
On entering the Mini City, kids will find the streets lined with over 60 real-world establishments, including a Hospital, Police Station, Fire Station, Airline, and Theatre (to name but a few) each offering unique role play adventures. Kids then get paid in KidZos that they can spend in the city or on food or gifts.
Children from the age of 7 can be left on their own without their parent. While the children play, parents can go off shopping, safe in the knowledge that their offspring have been electronically tagged with a bracelet that tracks them.
