If you’re looking for a delicious and quick breakfast to make for your family then look no further – these overnight oats are so delicious and filling. Thanks to the addition of chia seeds they’re loaded with important nutrients too. It’s something we make in our house all the time and even better they’re super easy to whip up! Check out the recipe below…
For the oatmeal:
1/3 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp chia seeds (we also like using Linwoods ground seeds)
½ cup almond/soy/rice milk (enough to just cover oats and seeds)
1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (optional)
1 heaped spoonful of plain yogurt
– A handful of strawberries and raspberries.
A decent dash of dark chocolate shavings (add on top of yog and then on top of fruit to finish.)
– A handful of blueberries
1/2 tsp grated lemon zest on top.
Start by adding your rolled oats to your chosen jar. Next add your tablespoon of chia seeds followed by your preferred breakfast milk. Give it a little stir and then add a big dollop of plain yoghurt followed by your sweetener if you’re using one. Next add your preferred topping! Leave in the fridge overnight… and voila! The fun part is you can try lots of different combos to vary it up – next on our list to try is peanut butter and sliced bananas.
