If you’re like me, an incurable sweet tooth sufferer who tries to eat balanced but always craves chocolate, then you should try this nutritious dessert. It will not only satisfy your cravings but is also good for your belly, skin and heart. Beat that inner voice that says the combination of ingredients is weird; I know, I was reluctant too, but trust me it was a success. I like to decorate mine with some fresh seasonal fruit.
Avocado Chocolate Mousse
- 1 avocado
- 1 ripe banana
- 3 teaspoons raw cacao powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons honey (or agave nectar)
- a handful walnuts, chopped (optional, for crunchiness)
- fresh seasonal fruit, to decorate
Place avocado, banana, raw cacao powder and honey in a food processor and mix. Pour mixture in a bowl, add the chopped walnuts and stir with a spoon (optional, skip this step if you don’t like it crunchy). Pour in four small bowls and decorate with seasonal fruit. Put in the fridge to chill for an hour. Serve cold.
